Christians Battle over Evolution
Let the cage match begin!
It looks like Christians are all set to get down and dirty on what it truly means to believe in Jesus and his cronies.
The Discovery Institute – the Seattle-based headquarters of the intelligent design movement has decided that you cannot be a ‘true’ Christian if you do not believe in creationism, and this is apparently at odds with a growing number of Christians who feel that science and faith should not be at odds.
In fact another faction that is pro evolution has sprung up to combat the Discovery Institutes doctrine. The BioLogos Foundation, the brainchild of geneticist Francis Collins, who is also an Evangelical Christian is strongly promoting “theistic evolution” – the belief that God (the prayer-listening, proactive, personal God of Christianity) chose to create life by way of evolution.
I think it’s interesting that the Discovery Institute – which has long argued that intelligent design qualifies as science – seems to have given up the game and acknowledged that their concerns are religious after all. It’s equally interesting that the catalyst doesn’t seem to be someone like Richard Dawkins pushing atheism, but Francis Collins pushing Christianity. Perhaps the Discovery folks realise that Dawkins’s followers are never going to be swayed by intelligent design; Collins, however, might very well cut into their target audience of scientifically-curious evangelicals.

Could there be Zombies in our midst?

Are all people conscious, are all people self-aware sentient beings?
Could it be that a portion of the world population are nothing more than zombies? Intelligent automatons programmed by natural selection to blend in perfectly, and imitate the rest of us?
Who are these ‘zombies’, and why would they exist?
Have you ever had a conversation with someone concerning a spiritual, metaphysical or philosophical subject, that provokes nothing but a blank stare, or glazed eye reaction? Thoughts of why we are all here, and what life is all about probably never enter the minds of these people. Not even a blip on their radar, as their entire mental existence is focused on the material world and its workings.
Bush’s Biblical Prophecy

It seems that ex-President George Bush’s born again Christian status is being solidified in the latest news leaked from his presidential period. It is revealed that during George Bush’s time as President, that the Iraq war had a strong ‘religious’ fervor behind its inception, and that Bush believed that the Iraqi confrontation was:
“… willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people’s enemies before a New Age begins”.
The news leak concerning the ex-Presidents apparent religious belifes, and his fasination with the End Times and New Age, also reveals some telling syncronisities concerning his days at Yale and the reason for the war.
In 2003 while lobbying leaders to put together the Coalition of the Willing, President Bush spoke to France’s President Jacques Chirac. Bush wove a story about how the Biblical creatures Gog and Magog were at work in the Middle East and how they must be defeated.
In Genesis and Ezekiel Gog and Magog are forces of the Apocalypse who are prophesied to come out of the north and destroy Israel unless stopped.
There is a curious coda to this story. While a senior at Yale University George W. Bush was a member of the exclusive and secretive Skull & Bones society. His father, George H.W. Bush had also been a “Bonesman”, as indeed had his father. Skull & Bones’ initiates are assigned or take on nicknames. And what was George Bush Senior’s nickname? “Magog”.

The Truth about Nursery Rhymes
The other day my children spontaneously lept to their feet and starting singing “Ring Around The Rosie” while spinning around in the living room. As they both ended their song and fell to the ground laughing, I remembered that the origin of the rhyme had something to do with the black death or a plague in the middle ages.
While I refrained from letting my children know my suspected origin off the rhyme, I did make a mental note to confirm this fact later, by searching on the internet.
During my search I was lucky enough to discover a great site that offers the origins of most if not all of childhoods rhymes, and most are very disturbing…

Scouts trained to fight immigrants and terrorists

Despite the obvious echos of the Hitler Youth, the Neo – Con mind set is alive and well in this new and disturbing chapter in the ongoing saga of “fucking with kid’s minds”. It’s plainly obvious that the majority of people that are attracted to militaristic organizations when of a young age, are going through some confusing times.
It is not an accident that a large part of the Scout organization and the Military in general is populated by confused young people, as these organizations give the appearance of providing structure and a path where there seemingly is none. The perfect breeding ground for instilling belief systems, and conditioning the malleable mental faculties of a young child.
Now a new Scouting program has appeared on the mind control horizon. One that teaches children to fight immigrants and Arab terrorists:
“United States Border Patrol! Put your hands up!” screams one in a voice cracking with adolescent determination as the suspect is subdued…
The Explorers program, a coeducational affiliate of the Boy Scouts of America that began 60 years ago, is training thousands of young people in skills used to confront terrorism, illegal immigration and escalating border violence — an intense ratcheting up of one of the group’s longtime missions to prepare youths for more traditional jobs as police officers and firefighters…
Their hearts pounding, Explorers moved down alleys where there were hidden paper targets of people pointing guns, and made split-second decisions about when to shoot. In rescuing hostages from a bus taken over by terrorists, a baby-faced young girl screamed, “Separate your feet!” as she moved to handcuff her suspect.
In a competition in Arizona that he did not oversee, Deputy Lowenthal said, one role-player wore traditional Arab dress. “If we’re looking at 9/11 and what a Middle Eastern terrorist would be like,” he said, “then maybe your role-player would look like that. I don’t know, would you call that politically incorrect?”

Meditation increases brain gray matter

I have on occasion dabbled in meditation, and found it to be enormously beneficial in clarifying thought, and calming my mind. And while it may seem like a cop out to use the standard “I just don’t have the time” response as to why I’m not a regular practitioner, it seems to be true in my case.
It’s also true that if you deem something important enough in your life, you will simply find the time. This is something that I have struggled with for the past two or three years, as juggling my time is an ongoing challenge.
It now seems that researchers have discovered that meditation not only benefits the practitioner in emotional and mindful ways, but it also increases the physical size of the brain.
Push-ups, crunches, gyms, personal trainers — people have many strategies for building bigger muscles and stronger bones. But what can one do to build a bigger brain? Meditate.
That’s the finding from a group of researchers at UCLA who used high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to scan the brains of people who meditate. In a study published in the journal NeuroImage and currently available online (by subscription), the researchers report that certain regions in the brains of long-term meditators were larger than in a similar control group.

The Electronic Police State

With the continued onslaught of electronic surveillance, and the virtual end to personal privacy. There are several places in the world that lead this march to the global electronic police state, with some of the worst offenders being China, North Korea, Belarus and Russia, followed by the UK, the US, and Singapore.
An unknown person/group called “CryptoHippie” has released a document that describes in detail the current state of the global electronic police state.
The two crucial facts about the information gathered under an electronic police state are these:
1. It is criminal evidence, ready for use in a trial.
2. It is gathered universally and silently, and only later organized for use in prosecutions.
In an Electronic Police State, every surveillance camera recording, every email you send, every Internet site you surf, every post you make, every check you write, every credit card swipe, every cell phone ping… are all criminal evidence, and they are held in searchable databases, for a long, long time. Whoever holds this evidence can make you look very, very bad whenever they care enough to do so. You can be prosecuted whenever they feel like it – the evidence is already in their database.
Perhaps you trust that your ruler will only use his evidence archives to hurt bad people. Will you also trust his successor? Do you also trust all of his subordinates, every government worker and every policeman?

Undercover Police used to incite riots
Sadly, this is a tactic that is used in most ‘peaceful’ protests. Plain clothes police or government stooges actively take part in the protest and attempt to provoke the participants into violence, thus giving the protesters and their cause a bad name in the public’s eyes.
G20 police ‘used undercover men to incite crowds’
“When I was in the middle of the crowd, two people came over to me and said, ‘There are people over there who we believe are policemen and who have been encouraging the crowd to throw things at the police,’” Brake said. But when the crowd became suspicious of the men and accused them of being police officers, the pair approached the police line and passed through after showing some form of identification.
Brake has produced a draft report of his experiences for the human rights committee, having received written statements from people in the crowd. These include Tony Amos, a photographer who was standing with protesters in the Royal Exchange between 5pm and 6pm. “He [one of the alleged officers] was egging protesters on. It was very noticeable,” Amos said. “Then suddenly a protester seemed to identify him as a policeman and turned on him. He legged it towards the police line, flashed some ID and they just let him through, no questions asked.”
