New Mental Illness Discovery

A CLINICAL ANALYSIS OF ANTI-GOVERNMENT PHOBIA

Ivor E. Tower, M.D.
Journal of Clinical Psychiatry
Volume 11, series 3, pages 4-5

Abstract

This study conclusively demonstrates that unfounded fear of government is a recognizable mental illness, closely related to paranoid schizophrenia. Anti-Government Phobia (AGP) differs from most mental illnesses, however, in that it is highly infectious and has an acute onset. Symptoms include extreme suspiciousness, conspiracy-mongering, delusional thought patterns, staunch “us against them” mentality, withdrawal from reality, and often religious fanaticism.

UK News : Drought Affects Northern Ireland

TV footage of hundreds of people queueing for water is usually beamed across the UK from Africa over the Christmas period in order to get hands in pockets to help supply the unfortunates with the stuff that falls from the sky.

This year it is different. It is the people of the UK who are doing the lining up, armed with plastic bottles, from pumps that are open at set times.

Could Obama Switch Off The Net?

Legislation is already in place to allow US President the authority to ‘shut off’ the Internet in the USA.

It is uncertain what effect this would have on the rest of the world. Or whether it is actually possible that there is a ‘plug’ system available for the authorities to pull.

The fact they are now discussing this in the name of cyber-security is worrying.

Euro-Sceptic PM in Skeptic About-Turn

Dubbed the most Euro-skeptic PM since Margaret Thatcher, David Cameron finally ceded the UK’s last hope of a pull-back from the European Super State.

Seemingly cock-a-hoop at forcing a reduction of Britain’s annual payment to the EU, Cameron has all but acknowledged that he is either powerless or unwilling to hold to his pre-election promises of stopping further EU incursions into UK sovereignty.

UK Defence : Saving or Sell Out

“Rejoice , rejoice…”, so said PM Margaret Thatcher as UK forces accepted the surrender of the enemy in that very British War, the Falklands Conflict.   She also said ” We are a grandmother…” but we should possibly put that down to the heat of the moment rather royal aspirations.

25 percent cuts in military spending have now been earmarked by the Government as every aspect of British life comes under the shadow of the fiscal axe.  But is this a sell out rather than a spending cut exercise?  The percentage suggests it is the former rather than the latter.

Burger, Chips and Statins

Imperial College London health researchers are suggesting that statins be handed out in fast food restaurants as part of a drive to cut down heart disease. They say the 5p per pill preparation will offset the negative effects of the junk food, and cite a 7oz burger and milkshake as an example where one dose would cut out that fat intake therein.

There is no doubt that the drug helps patients who have already had a heart attack.  There is dubious evidence though that Statins are useful as a preventative measure.  Yet their use has rocketed in people hoping to prevent a heart attack.

Statins is big business and is now the most prescribed drug on the planet.
“There’s a conspiracy of false hope” states Dr. John Abramson of Harvard Medical School.
But whilst people seek a magic pill shortcut to good health, so will commercial incentives take the lead in prescription practices.
