Warning: Spoilers ahead – ‘Behind the Curtain’, unlike any other movie review show. Listen to Gareth and Alex as they dissect their favourite films in true Mind Set style. Asking the questions other shows are afraid to ask and revealing what’s hiding in plain sight.
“We're not meant to experience the world through a machine.”
The world is a ‘safer’ place when we live our lives through the eyes of machines. Or at least that’s what the people believe in ‘Surrogates’. Until, that is, a weapon is used that kills not only the machine but its user too.
Would you choose a virtual life over your real one?
Set in the near future perhaps the idea doesn’t seem so strange if we consider the use of social networks and video games today. To live ‘free’ from disease and with a body ‘designed’ the way you choose.
Be beautiful and eternally young through your Surrogate – but at what cost? Would you offer your children a Surrogate or feel guilty if you did not? As our lives become ever more technological are we missing something?
