One World Government – One World Airline
OK so depending upon your point of view we are either heading towards a one world government or we are already under one (assuming you don’t accept the conspiracy stories told by the main stream press that such a thing is silly talk). With a one world system, competition is becoming a thing of the past and our world is becoming controlled by fewer and fewer people being no different to banking, media, farming, military, health, and so on – airlines are also and have been following suit.
This week we see yet another planned merger:-
Aug2010 Brazilian airline TAM plans to merge with Chile’s LAN
The point is that this is not new. Mindset even commented on how the number of European airlines are decreasing, especially noticeable from the talks that surrounded the Ash that disrupted flights recently. There have been times when plans have been blocked (or is that ‘postponed’?). Such as back in 1999.
Nov1999 The Company File Canadian airline merger blocked
However the overall trend is/has been one of mergers and acquisitions, but perhaps the alarming thing is the rate and size of mergers seems to be increasing. Of course as these events are staggered, most people simply never see the larger picture at all. For example:-
May2010 United and Continental Airlines to merge
Apr2010 British Airways and Iberia sign merger agreement
Feb2007 India state airlines set to merge
June2003 African airlines urged to merge
