Obama’s background – In the Whitehouse
Are we seeing a denationalization of President Obama?
In May of this year America’s President gave a press conference without the ‘stars and stripes’ anywhere on display. It was held in the East Room of the White House. Here are 3 shots to show the room’s design and how the President looked.
Despite some reports the room’s décor has been similar for some time. Even the Oval Office shares similar drapes – yet the absence of a flag is interesting, especially for America.
This report could easily become a large article on Nationalism vs Gloabalisation – but instead let me show a few images of how ‘President Obama’ has been shown during his term in office… notice any changes?
Here are some photos of previous American Presidents – notice the flags and colour schemes and how dramatic they are. The important thing to remember is that these events are well planned and staged.
As a final thought I decided to look at the official WhiteHouse site. They have a ‘photo of the day’ – showing the President at work… Which is where I noticed that for this month there is not one single clear shot of an American flag…
[As the saying goes - don't trust me - LOOK for yourselves. Perhaps I have been selective in the pictures I've chosen...]

The absence of the flag is quite conspicuous, now that you’ve mentioned it. We’re talking about possibly the most defining symbol of America which US citizens pledge their allegience to. Where is it? What could it’s non-appearance mean? I have no interpretation yet.
