Police Admit Storing Details Of Victims on Crime Secret Database

database-tips

Fair enough.  Someone commits a crime so you would expect them to be on some sort of database.  Not that the information therein could be used in evidence if said criminal was again to find himself up before the beak.

But it seems odd that a UK Police force would need to store details of victims and those reporting crime onto the same database.

Maybe they interpreted the Secretary of State’s guidance in a different way than it was intended.

Their reasoning is in order to tackle crime – eh? – and to prevent such things as crime and ‘anti-social behaviour’.  And no, it is not ‘secret’ per se.  All police forces in the UK have access to the database.
