UK – US Relationships At Breakpoint

As if US ( and world) opinion of BP isn’t bad enough, further details of the release of Abdel Basset al-Megrahi have implicated both the UK Goverment and the Oil Giant in a deal with former – current dictator Colonel Muammar Ghadaffi of Libya to get the Lockerbie Bomber released.

270 people, many American citizens, died in the bombing of the Pan Am flight in 1988. BP admit to lobbying for the convicted bomber’s release in order to make a grab for Libyan oil.  Last month, ex-PM Tony Blair visited Gaddafi, and remarkably denied he was an ‘advisor’ to the Libyan leader.
