EU: A Very Diplomatic Coup

Parapolitical

The European Union is pressing ahead with a £700m upgrading of it’s Foreign Service just as the UK and other nations within the superstate begin to slash their’s (The UK are reporting 40% cuts with closures of embassies across the planet).

700 new EU diplomats are being spread across the globe on the back of the United Nations General Assembly decision to grant the EU powers similar to a ‘country’.

Little in the way of debate has taken place – and member nation after member nation may soon wake up to losing diplomatic control of its overseas interests and responsibility for its citizens abroad. Perhaps the EU has seen a gap in the market to exploit, and their spending may now encourage still further member states to cut their foreign departments yet more.

The situation has implications for ‘neutral countries’ as well as Security Council members.
Is this empire building part of a global domination by a One World ideology?  Or is there something even more sinister at work?  Whilst big players the USA and the UK seem tied into military policies that guarantee to alienate public opinion, the EU is building bridges with aid and diplomacy.
