When they knock on your door…

The UK has a new Government and with it the rhetoric follows. There is talk of abolishing the national ID card and evaluating CCTV within our society – but be careful not to confuse spin with evidence. Our liberties are more at threat now than ever before.

It was a few days ago now that Brian Haw was arrested for ‘obstructing the Police’. For those who do not know of Brian he has been peacefully and legally protesting against the War in Iraq opposite parliament since 2001.

Thankfully he has just been released upon bail and more information has come to light. From video it can be seen that the police wanted to search Brian’s tent/home. Brian did not open the tent strait away and was then arrested for obstruction. But apparently the police did NOT have a search warrant – so had no powers to search and therefore Brian could not have been “obstructing a police officer in the course of their duty”. This means that Brian was arrested as part of an UNLAWFUL search – yet the BBC fail completely to mention this in their reporting.

Of course this is bad enough but in it mirrors Peters concern in his latest video on Gary McKinnon. This is not just about other people. It is about all of us. For those who even noticed will link Brian’s arrest to the police dealing with demonstrators… rather than feeling outrage at the arrest of an innocent man! So the unlawful search on ‘a man in a tent’ passes people by – but if today one man can be UNLAWFULLY arrested with no repercussions then tomorrow it could be anyone. Maybe it will be your Brother, Sister, Mother, Father… or you.

We’re there because our country is committing infanticide, genocide, the looting of nations. I’m determined to be there until they kill me. How much longer will that be?
