The Mindset Podcast began with reference to last week’s roundtable discussion and the feedback received from it.  Hopefully this can become a monthly event.

Mention was made of it being Easter and we discussed some aspects of Christianity, deciding that an in-depth discussion on the basis of religion could be a show in itself.

Peter spoke of the news making the headlines in the UK, including the return of Doctor Who. Gareth spoke of The Love Police, which is gaining huge audiences on You Tube.

Latest News from the UK:

Archbishop of Canterbury (Church of England) has said the RC Church in Ireland has lost credibility because of the sex scandals.  It was agreed that his institution should keep its head down in case the media started snooping around their members.

Financial Institutions are now being forced by the UK Government to employ more women or face legal quotas.

Cancer drugs are still not reaching patients due to the Government body NICE.  One of the political tribes, The Tories, are promising to release these drugs if they win the election.

Gordon Brown and Barack Obama along with The Mindset Podcast have given Easter Greetings along the lines of a Papal Message.

We then dived into the clips:

Earth Hour:

Gareth stated it hardly scratched the surface in the USA, with folk going about their business as per usual.  Peter stated he turned his lights off every night when going to bed, naming the procedure ‘Earth Eight Hours’ and thus saves the planet every night eight times over.  Earth Hour was dissected and discussed at length.

Abortion:

Whacked out on religion, some people do dreadful things.  We discussed the case of the man jailed for shooting an Abortion Doctor in church.

Fat Tax:

Tax – they love it.  But why not make bigger seats if its for our own good? We discussed diet , food, and other issues relation to sitting next to super sized people in enclosed areas.  Air Security

Airport Security:

It is a change and it smells fishy.  Are security actually picking up things that would be embarrassing to officials.  What is the story behind the story?

Meow Meow:

It wasn’t a drug till users started to take it after googling it and discovering that it makes you high. Its a plant food.  But why are youngsters turning to narcotics? And how is all this stuff getting past security?  Suspicious!

Micro-chipping:

The Health Care Bill, soon to become Law, will require users of the free health care to be micro chipped.  36 months have been allotted to try and sell this to an asleep public.  Peter suggested a two tier society through this measure.
