The Crying Game
Playing the ‘emotion’ card is nothing new in mainstream politics. Two keen players in the ‘New Labour Project’ today ‘broke down’ in front of the cameras.
Ex-Communications Chief Alistair Campbell – not one renowned as a blubberer – and UK PM Gordon Brown, well known for his dour presentation techniques, shed tears during interviews, some say to co-incide with a New Labour fightback against Government – in – waiting ‘The Conservative Party’.
Whether or not this is genuine emotion or simply camera play cannot be ascertained due to the skill of presentation now vital in the world of politics.
